How we choose

We write for one person running a business, not for a procurement team. That changes what matters: price at small scale, how far a free plan goes, and what you'll outgrow first.

Where our facts come from

• Prices and limits come from each vendor's own pricing page. Every tool page shows the date we last checked and links to the source.
• Promotional prices are labeled as promotions, with the regular price when the vendor shows it.
• Hands-on testing is marked clearly. Pages for tools we haven't used yet say so, and compare published facts only.

How we rank

Each best-of page lists the criteria we used. We rank by fit for a one-person business: total cost at small scale, fees on sales, free plan limits, and what a solo operator needs on day one. We include tools that pay us nothing when they're the right answer.

What we don't do

• We don't publish invented reviews, testimonials or star ratings.
• We don't let commission rates decide rankings.
• We don't accept payment for placement.

Keeping it current

We re-check prices regularly and update pages when vendors change their plans. If you spot something out of date, please tell us.
